CHUCK SANGER
A 30-year veteran of the communications business, Chuck provides a range of clients with media relations, reputation management, crisis communications, issues management and integrated marketing counsel in myriad categories—from sports/entertainment to food, recreational products, industrial, financial services and energy.
Prior to launching CS Communications, Chuck worked for a number of integrated marketing communications and branding agencies, developing expertise in several disciplines including issues management and crisis communications. In these areas Chuck developed strategies related to many public issues including product recalls, disaster response and the (A)H1N1 flu pandemic and COVID-19. Key to the strategies he developed related to these and other public issues was responding to subjective media coverage. Such strategic response helps build a foundation from which companies emerge from crises with forward-moving strategies.
Chuck’s public relations career was launched on the client side, working with the Minnesota Vikings, the Super Bowl XXVI Task Force and as director of media relations and broadcasting at Canterbury Downs [now Canterbury Park] thoroughbred horse racing track.
Prior to working in public relations, Chuck was a reporter with two wire services, and held editorial positions with two daily newspapers. These experiences have proven invaluable when counseling clients faced with challenging media perceptions.
Chuck coaches youth football in his spare time and holds a degree in journalism from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.
